Who's Fault Is It? by Cynthia St Charles
From the Hand Painted Gallery
Size in inches: 20 x 28

Price: $1,500

This quilt is part of the traveling exhibit "Proverbial Challenge - Riddle Me This". The object was to create a quilt that answers a riddle.

Riddle: "What did one tectonic plate say to the other tectonic plate?"
Answer: "Who's Fault Is It?"

This quilt is composed of cotton fabrics hand dyed and hand painted to represent the various rock layers exposed in a fault line. Geologists have identified fossilized sea creatures, dinosaur bones, limestone, sandstone, dolomite, shale, granite, sandstone, and conglomerate rock left exposed by uplifts and erosion. The quilt has been machine quilted with cotton, rayon, and metallic threads.
