Winter		Thunder by Cynthia St Charles From the Hand Painted Gallery Size in inches: 82 x 51 Price: $2,500 The rumbling reverberation in the midst of a thunderstorm evokes the image of a huge herd of horses running through the clouds above. In this art quilt, ethereal horses gallop across the backdrop of misty clouds, conveying the image of "Thunder". Resisted, then hand painted cotton composes the cloudlike background. The raw edge appliqué horse figures are constructed of hand dyed cotton, hand painted Tyvek®, and Angelina fibers. Metallic silver braid representing lightening has been couched with metallic threads. Horizontal and vertical lines of machine quilting represent the wind and rain.
