With no brothers to balance the estrogen level of the household, the experience was uniquely special. We were known as "the girls", nearly indistinguishable from each other in the eyes of our parents and the small ranch community where we grew up. Our bond has continued into adulthood, grounded by our developmental years together in a small house. Hand dyed fabric figures are complimented with multi-colored machine stitching in words and phrases reminiscent of my experience growing up in a household of women (and one macho cowboy rancher-dad).
