Shreds #1 by Cynthia St Charles Price: $200 I was uncertain of the fiber content of a printed fabric I found in the bottom of a drawer. I liked the drape and texture, but not the print. I decided to experiment with bleaching and overdyeing. The fabric did discharge with household bleach, but I got distracted and failed to properly neutralize the bleach. I discovered my oversight when I washed it out after dyeing. The resulting shreds pleased me, and I resolved to find a way of preserving them. They've been pebble stitched by hand onto a hand painted background. The hanger is a piece of driftwood salvaged from the beach along the Washington coastline. Additional detail:
